Frequently Asked Questions
- How can I get listed in these directories? - Once you buy the directory you will note that it comes with a
form that you complete that will allow your business to get listed in the next 9 updates of the directory. This
is a very quick and dirty way for small business to get the same exposure as the big guys with future prospects.
You will want to ensure that your firm is listed in any future directories that are published.
- How often are the directories updated? Normally 2-4 times per year so as to keep pace with the constant change
in information. Once a company purchase the directory and gets listed, they will normally be listed for the next
3 years.
- Are the directories available in CD or other digital format? No - they would be too easy to copy.
- How many pages are there per directory? The National Commercial Business Directory has roughly 1,900 telephone
book size pages. The Eastern American Business Guide has about 1,700 pages and the Canadian National Resource Pages
has about 1,650 pages.
- How is the information sorted in the directories? By Standard Industry Code - then alphabetically by company
name.
- Why would I purchase a directory when there are free listings on the Internet? The Internet is a great resource
for getting business contacts. Unfortunately, with most services on the net, you can only get a few listings at
a time. Serious business to business marketing is done using both commercial directories and whatever free resources
are available on the net.
